Argentina has two nuclear power plants: Atucha and Embalse.

Armenia has one nuclear power plant at Metsamor.

Two VVER-1200 units are under construction in Bangladesh.

Belarus has two VVER-1200 reactors, located at Ostrovets.

Belgium has two nuclear power plants: Doel, a four-unit plant and Tihange, a three-unit plant.

Brazil has two operating reactors with a combined capacity of 1884 MWe.

Bulgaria has one nuclear power plant, Kozloduy, with two operating VVER-1000 reactors,

Nineteen reactors operate at four plants in Canada, 18 of which are in Ontario at Bruce, Darlington and Pickering, and one in New Brunswick.

Mainland China has 56 operable reactors with a total capacity of 54 GWe.

Czechia has six operable reactors: two VVER-1000 units at Temelin, and four VVER-440 units at Dukovany.

Four VVER-1200 units are under construction in Egypt.

Finland has two nuclear power plants: Loviisa and Olkiluoto.

France has 56 operable reactors with a total capacity of 61.4 GWe.

Germany closed its last three reactors in April 2023.

Four VVER-440 reactors operate at the Paks nuclear power plant in Hungary.

India has 23 reactors at seven nuclear power plants located both inland and along the coast.

A single VVER-1000 unit is in operation in Iran.

Japan is proceeding with its plan to seek regulatory approval to restart many of its reactors.

Mexico has two operable nuclear reactors located on the east coast of the country.

One 485 MWe PWR operates at Borsselle, with plans for two more reactors.

Pakistan has six operating nuclear power reactors at two sites.

Two reactors at Cernavoda supply electricty and, in addition, district heating to the adjacent town of Cernavoda.

There are 36 operable reactors in Russia.

Slovakia has five operable nuclear reactors: two at Bohunice, and three at Mochovce.

Slovenia has a single reactor operating at Krško.

South Africa has a single nuclear power plant at Koeberg.

There are 26 reactors operating in South Korea, providing more than a quarter of the country's electricity.

Spain has seven operable nuclear reactors at five sites.

There are six reactors operating in three locations in Sweden.

Switzerland has four reactors that generate around a third of the country’s electricity.

Taiwan has one operable reactor that is expected to close in the first half of 2025.

The Akkuyu nuclear plant, under construction on Turkey's southern coast, will comprise four reactors.

Ukraine has 15 reactors. Six units at Zaporizhzhia – which is occupied by Russian military forces – are in cold shutdown. 

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has four operable nuclear power reactors at Barakah.

The UK has nine operable reactors at five sites; eight are advanced gas-cooled reactors (AGRs), with one pressurized water reactor (PWR) at Sizewell.

The USA has 94 operable reactors, the largest nuclear fleet of any single country.
