World Nuclear University Summer Institute

The Summer Institute is the most effective career development programme, aiming to provide nuclear professionals with a realistic global picture on the full spectrum of issues surrounding nuclear energy, to develop skills in leadership, communication, planning and organisation, and thus to prepare them for future challenges.

During the 270 hours of the Summer Institute programme, an internationally divers mix of top nuclear professionals attend dynamic lectures, workshops, visits of nuclear facilities, and work on group projects, such as the Network for Nuclear Innovations.

Each WNU Summer Institute involves around 70 participants, called Fellows, selected from promising nuclear professionals, who have demonstrated strong leadership potential. WNU Fellows become part of an expanding global network of future leaders in the nuclear profession. Since the Summer Institute’s inception in 2005, a total of 1,214 Fellows from 85 countries have successfully completed the programme.

The WNU Summer Institutes planned for 2020 and 2021 have unfortunately been cancelled. WNU looks forward to returning in 2022.
