We advocate for tripling nuclear energy capacity by 2050

Updated Friday, 10 October 2025

Net Zero Nuclear is an initiative that calls for unprecedented collaboration between government and industry leaders to at least triple global nuclear capacity to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Our missions:

  • Official recognition for nuclear energy as a clean energy source for decarbonization
  • We advocate for tripling nuclear global capacity by 2050
  • Ensure nuclear energy's potential is fully realized as we work to decarbonize our global energy systems, by promoting the value of nuclear energy and removing barriers to its growth.

Our partners are working together to:

  • Build understanding of the value of nuclear energy
  • Deliver the political and financial enablers to propel nuclear energy’s growth
  • Remove the roadblocks that prevent nuclear from fully realizing its contribution to global clean energy security

Objectives

The initiative aims to focus the industry’s collective efforts on realistic, actionable, solutions-focused dialogue to enable the rapid expansion of the global nuclear fleet and the acceleration research and development into emerging nuclear technologies.

Thank you to all our partners who supported the Net Zero Nuclear initiative in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Without your valuable support we would not have had the impact that we did. We are now excited to look ahead to COP30 and the opportunity to work with new and old partners on this exciting road towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.
