New strategic partnership to enhance World Nuclear Supply Chain
Issued 26 June 2026
World Nuclear Association and the Philippines Department of Energy have announced that the World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference 2026 and the Philippine International Nuclear Energy Forum 2026 will be convened as one integrated event in Manila on 20–21 October 2026.
The partnership brings together the global reach of World Nuclear Association’s leading annual supply chain conference with the Philippines Department of Energy’s platform for nuclear industrial cooperation. The unified event will connect policymakers, utilities, developers, reactor vendors, regulators, engineering and construction companies, manufacturers, suppliers, financiers, research organisations and international institutions in advancing global and regional cooperation on nuclear energy development.
Taking place during the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship year, the combined World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference 2026 and Philippine International Nuclear Energy Forum 2026, with the support of ASEAN Centre of Energy, will provide a focused platform on nuclear development in the Southeast Asia region to support policy-to-industry alignment, supply chain readiness, localisation strategies, investment dialogue and business-to-business engagement across the region and the wider global nuclear market.
Sama Bilbao y León, Director General of World Nuclear Association, said: “The expansion of nuclear energy will be delivered through strong regional partnerships and resilient global supply chains. By partnering with the Philippines Department of Energy, we are creating a single platform that brings international expertise together with ASEAN’s priorities for industrial development, clean energy and energy security. This partnership will help turn ambition into practical collaboration across the full nuclear value chain.”
Sharon S. Garin, Secretary of the Department of Energy, Republic of the Philippines, said: “The Philippines is pleased to partner with World Nuclear Association to convene this integrated event in Manila. As ASEAN countries explore sustainable pathways to meet growing energy demand, cooperation on policy, skills, investment and supply chain capability will be essential. This forum will support constructive dialogue and practical partnerships that can help unlock opportunities for nuclear energy development in the Philippines, across ASEAN and beyond.”
The conference programme will address the practical requirements for capacity building, moving from policy ambition to grid connection, including industrial readiness, vendor development, project delivery risk, financing, localisation and ASEAN supply chain integration. Dedicated networking with Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions will support collaboration between international suppliers and regional stakeholders.
World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference 2026 will be held at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It will bring senior decision-makers to the Philippines at a time of growing international interest in ASEAN nuclear development, energy security and supply chain resilience.
The 2025 World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference in Poland brought together 310 delegates from 196 companies across 27 countries, reflecting the growing need for cross-border cooperation as the nuclear industry prepares for a major expansion in new build, life extension and fuel cycle activity.
The World Nuclear Outlook Report highlights the scale of the opportunity; global nuclear capacity could reach 1446 GWe by 2050, with 50 countries with plans are in place for nuclear capacity to be in operation in 2050. ASEAN nuclear capacity targets make up nearly a quarter (~24%) of newcomer nations ambitions, as countries assess nuclear energy as part of long-term strategies for energy security, industrial development and decarbonisation.
