World Nuclear Association highlights global opportunity at USTDA Civil Nuclear Energy Workshop

World Nuclear Association's Head of Policy and Industry Engagement, King Lee, delivered the keynote address at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Civil Nuclear Energy Workshop in London, joining senior government representatives, industry leaders and policymakers from the United States and 20 European and Eurasian countries. 

The workshop focused on advancing the safe and efficient deployment of civil nuclear energy technologies and strengthening international partnerships to support energy security and new nuclear projects. 

Opening the event, King Lee highlighted the unprecedented pipeline of nuclear projects being advanced by governments and developers worldwide, drawing on data from the Association's World Nuclear Outlook report. He emphasised that turning this ambition into successful projects will depend on deeper international collaboration across reactor technology development, licensing, financing and investment models, and the expansion of resilient global supply chains. 

The workshop brought together government officials, regulators, utilities and technology providers to share lessons learned on reactor deployment, project delivery, industrial applications and financing, while creating opportunities for new international partnerships. 

Commenting after the event, King Lee said: 

"The global pipeline of nuclear projects continues to grow, but delivering these projects at the pace required will depend on unprecedented international cooperation." 

The event reflects the growing international focus on collaboration as countries seek to accelerate nuclear deployment to meet energy security, economic and climate objectives. Through its participation, World Nuclear Association continues to contribute independent industry insight to high-level discussions that shape the policies and partnerships needed to deliver the next generation of nuclear projects worldwide.
