All you need to know about World Nuclear Supply Chain

Q: What is the World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference 2025 and what makes it unique?

A:  The World Nuclear Supply Chain Conference 2025 is a new international platform organized by World Nuclear Association to unite the nuclear industry’s stakeholders in one place. It will be held on 20–21 May 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. This inaugural event is designed to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the global nuclear sector and to build future success in nuclear project deployment by strengthening and scaling up the supply chain. What makes this conference unique is its global scope and forward-looking focus – it’s not just another industry meeting, but a strategic gathering aimed at mobilizing stakeholders to capitalize on business opportunities in the international nuclear supply chain and address the urgent challenge of expanding nuclear capacity worldwide. With many countries planning new reactors of various outputs and the industry’s goal to triple global nuclear capacity by 2050, there is an unprecedented need to grow and coordinate the supply chain. WNSC 2025 directly tackles this challenge, offering a one-of-a-kind forum where companies, governments, and experts from around the world will come together to collaborate on solutions. In short, it’s a ground-breaking conference purpose-built to reinforce the nuclear supply chain at a pivotal moment for our industry.

Q: Why is this event important now, and what key themes will it cover?

A: The timing of this conference is crucial. Around the world, we’re seeing renewed momentum for nuclear energy – from ambitious net-zero commitments to multiple countries launching new reactor programmes. To meet these goals, the nuclear industry must scale up its supply chain dramatically in the coming years. WNSC 2025 will explore exactly how the international supply chain can prepare and deliver to do this. The key themes include outlining the demand signal and requirements of the international supply chain, drivers for supply chain scale-up, embedding innovation, and establishing the right balance of localization and international supply. Attendees will explore how to expand manufacturing and construction capacity and capabilities (to build more plants on tighter timelines) and how to innovate – whether through new business models, manufacturing  and construction techniques, or improved project management and financing models – to deliver nuclear projects more efficiently.

Another core theme is localization. As nuclear projects expand into new markets (like Poland and other newcomer countries), how can international suppliers partner with local companies to develop domestic industrial capabilities? The conference sessions will feature discussions on the latest reactor projects and nuclear programmes worldwide, highlighting the needs of each of them for the global supply chain. Expect in-depth dialogue on topics such as collaborative supply chain delivery, developing skilled workforces, ensuring delivery across global supply networks, and leveraging cutting-edge technology to streamline nuclear project delivery. In essence, WNSC 2025 is future-focused – it’s about anticipating challenges and opportunities on the horizon and preparing the industry to successfully scale up in a sustainable, innovative way.

Q: Who will be participating, and how international is the attendance?

A: The conference has attracted a truly international lineup of participants. You’ll be in the room with senior leaders from across the nuclear ecosystem and across the globe. Confirmed attendees include representatives from government, major utilities, reactor vendors, and key suppliers. This diverse attendance means attendees will hear global perspectives and can network with decision-makers from all major nuclear markets. Whether you’re interested in new build projects in Europe, reactor component manufacturing in Asia, or supply opportunities in North America, you’ll find the key players at WNSC 2025. The breadth of international participation is a hallmark of this conference – it ensures that the conversations and connections made in Warsaw will span the entire world of nuclear energy.

Q: What will attendees gain from this conference?

A:  The Association's members attending WNSC 2025 can expect a wealth of benefits – the event is carefully crafted to provide both high-level insights and practical takeaways. Here’s what you’ll gain by participating in this conference:

- Exclusive industry insights: Hear directly from industry leaders – including utilities, national project directors, and reactor vendors – about upcoming nuclear projects and their supply chain requirements. You’ll get up-to-date information on who is building what, where, and when, straight from the source.

- Strategies and best practices: Learn how major players are approaching procurement and project execution. Senior procurement executives will share their strategies for qualifying suppliers, managing complex projects, and overcoming common challenges. Through case studies and panel discussions, you’ll discover real-world success stories and innovative solutions that can be applied to your own business.

- Forward-looking market analysis: Gain an understanding of global market trends and the evolving demand for nuclear. Analysts and experts will present the latest forecasts and discuss how factors like policy changes, climate goals, and technological breakthroughs are shaping the nuclear supply chain.

- Valuable connections: Perhaps most importantly, WNSC 2025 offers unparalleled networking. You’ll meet peers and potential partners from across the world, forging relationships that can lead to new partnerships or contracts. The conference’s networking sessions (including our exclusive Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, coffee breaks, lunches, and an evening reception) are structured to help you connect with the people who matter to your business. Every conversation is a chance to find a new client, investor, or collaborator.

Q: What is the B2B meeting programme, and how does it enhance the event?

A: One standout feature of WNSC 2025 is its parallel B2B meeting programme, which runs alongside the main conference sessions. This programme is a structured matchmaking and networking opportunity. Both days of the conference, from 10:30 to 16:30 CEST, are set aside for pre-arranged B2B meetings in a dedicated area.

Here’s how it works: as a delegate, you can schedule one-on-one or small group meetings with other attendees (such as potential clients, partners, buyers or suppliers) during those B2B slots. These meetings allow you to engage in real-time, face-to-face discussions about business opportunities. Instead of just exchanging business cards and hoping to follow up later, you can sit down on-site and immediately explore partnerships, negotiate deals, or scope out collaborations next steps. For example, a supplier might meet with a reactor vendor’s procurement team to pitch their capabilities, or a new market entrant might sit with an established operator to discuss local supply chain involvement. The B2B programme makes the conference highly interactive and outcome-oriented – it transforms networking from a passive activity into an active, productive part of your schedule. It’s also a global B2B forum; given the international mix of delegates, you could have back-to-back meetings with companies from three different continents in one afternoon. This kind of access is hard to achieve outside of an event like WNSC. In short, the B2B meetings ensure that you don’t just hear about opportunities in the presentations; you can immediately engage and start building relationships that may lead to real business. Don’t forget to plan ahead and make the most of this programme – slots may fill up quickly given the high level of interest.

Q: How can the Association’s members get involved and register for the conference?
